Our community: Refspecs
When it comes to location, Penrose ticks all the boxes. ‘Everywhere in Penrose has a lunch bar across the road,’ says Refspecs manager Rob Morgan, with a smile.
Refspecs, a specialist refrigeration and air conditioning wholesaler, has been at Station205 from inception. ‘We have branches that feed products out from Hamilton, Christchurch and soon the North Shore,’ says Rob, ‘but this is our head office. We have been on this site since we established the business ten years ago.’
Location is key for the business
Location is one of the many advantages of being at Station205. For Refspecs, who are selling spare parts and capital equipment to the trade both locally in New Zealand and throughout the Pacific, being right in the middle of Auckland’s transport hub is essential.
‘Location is all about the customer,’ says Rob. ‘We need to be around associated trades – electrical and plumbing wholesalers – and we let that choose where we want to be. Penrose is great. It’s halfway between two motorways, for easy access north, east, south and west. Which means it’s easy for the HVAC and refrigeration installers.’
Office and warehousing
Refspecs has office and warehouse spaces at Station205, in two adjoining buildings. ‘It’s a shared space, which makes truck access really good for dropping containers, along with ease of access for tradies with vans and trailers.’
Penrose is also handy for public transport. ‘Suppliers can stay in the CBD and catch a train into the office, and we have caught trains into town for meetings.’ And of course, there’s the lunch bars, as well as the convenience of Station205 on an arterial route.
Rob finds Andrew Nixon, CEO of Station205, ‘really good to deal with’. ‘He always takes into consideration what we want and what’s important for us when dealing with our customers. He has a holistic view of the tenant. He wants to understand our future plans and accommodate them as he enhances the site.’
