Our community: AHI Carrier
As a global company founded by the man who invented the air conditioner, AHI Carrier has offices around the world. Established in New Zealand for 45 years, they’re leasing Station205 industrial space for their head office.
‘The location suits our business needs,’ says AHI Carrier’s Finance Manager Amster Tang. ‘It’s very good – not far from two motorways, and we have related industries around this area. So it’s attractive for customers to come to one place to get what they need.’
AHI Carriers is a full-service air conditioning HVAC company. They import and distribute systems, do the systems design and installation, and provide service, maintenance and repairs.
‘We have four branches around the country – Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Napier – that are wholesale stores for parts and accessories. For service branches there are those four, plus Dunedin and New Plymouth.’
Ideal location for headquarters
Penrose and Station205 were a natural choice for their headquarters and largest branch, featuring industrial space for lease with easy on-site parking and good truck access. AHI Carrier also use Mainfreight for third-party warehousing down the road. ‘It’s convenient for people in south, east and west Auckland using Highway 20 and the southeastern freeway,’ says Tang.
As a campus of like-minded businesses, Station205 has intentionally created open and accessible driveways and manoeuvring. They recognised that ease of access and parking is essential for both customers and staff.
And one of the things both staff and customers appreciate is good, convenient food. ‘There’s a lunch bar across the road and a café down on O’Rorke Road, a new café in Church Street, and many in Onehunga Mall.’
Another benefit is Station205’s obliging management style. ‘Andrew is very pleasant to work with,’ says Tang. ‘Whenever we have any requests, he is very responsive.’
